Philanthropy is a core value of our company. We take very seriously our role and responsibilities to our employees, customers and the local communities in which we live and work. At InquisIT, we reach beyond ourselves to bring a serious commitment of time and resources to help those in need because we feel that in doing so, we help to make the world a better place.
There are many worthy causes that need support. Though we cannot help all of them, InquisIT is proud to support and have a positive impact on the following organizations that focus on children/youth, veterans, medical research and those that touch the lives of our employees.
Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) has a special meaning to InquisIT because cancer has touched a number our people—employees as well as close family and friends. Some have struggled with the mortality of this terrible disease while others have prevailed – only with assistance from Research and Development funded through organizations like LLS. Since 2014, our company has been an event sponsor and coordinator. We also host an InquisIT Golf Tournament to help raise money for the cause.
Toys for Tots is an organization that holds a special place. Since the company was founded, during the holiday season, InquisIT has endeavored to participate in an event or activity that embodies the spirit of the season for both our employees and our local community. What better a choice than the Toys for Tots program? In addition to the company being a collection point for toy donation, InquisiIT sponsors an annual Holiday party and auction. We donate auction items (TVs, computers, gift cards, etc.) and sell raffle tickets for items to be auctioned. The money collected from ticket sales becomes the final raffle item for a 50/50 split. Donations for 2015 amounted to $2,300, just from the raffle alone.
Veterans Support is an area to which InquisIT is committed. InquisIT holds a deep respect and appreciation for our veterans. Members of our executive team have either served, have a family member on active duty, or have grown up in a military family. One of our employees, a project manager in Maine and a decorated veteran in both the Korean War and Vietnam, brought forth a wonderful opportunity for InquisIT to helps vets in Maine. The Bangor Maine Veterans Center needed space to provide private counseling sessions to those who are suffering from PTSD and facing the challenges of integrating back into society after war. InquisIT donates office space to the Center in support of the several hundred vets residing in the North Eastern portion of Maine. The facility is open and available to vets and their families five days a week.
InquisIT also donates meeting space, in our IT Logistics Center, for the Boy Scouts of America. The company’s CEO having been a boy scout in his youth, still volunteers his time to help coordinate and run events and community service programs for the Scouts.
